HAIL TO THE KING: 60 YEARS OF DESTRUCTION is an independent crowd-funded documentary that celebrates the sixty-year legacy of the world's greatest monster, Godzilla. In July of 2014, Kyle Yount, die-hard Godzilla fan and the host of the internet's longest running podcast dedicated to the kaiju genre, launched the Kickstarter campaign in an attempt to fund the documentary. The modest goal of $8,000 was to take him to Tokyo to film Godzilla and kaiju-related events, locations and to interview cast, crew and fans of the Godzilla series about their passion and experiences with the King of the Monsters. On July 22nd, the campaign was fully funded thanks to an amazing backer claiming the top pledge level. The support continued to pour in until the campaign's successful end and by the time the dust settled, all three stretch goals had been met. These goals were to hire the camera crew for another day (making a total of three filming days), pay the appearance fees for cast members and to take along a photographer to document the process. On August 5th, the project was 242% funded with $19,435 and preparations were quickly made to secure the last minute details before Kyle and his photographer David Eric Dopko made their way to the land of the rising sun.

The documentary available to watch, in it's entirety on YouTube.
